Good afternoon Fourth Avenue Church!
We have been invited by the Old Louisville Neighborhood Council to join in their efforts to stop the closing of Engine 7, the firehouse for our Old Louisville neighborhood. It is both our closest firefighting station and the oldest continuous functioning firehouse in the nation. If you would like to join in this effort, here are some suggestions:
1. Go to the Metro Council Meeting tomorrow (Thursday) at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will take place on the 3rd floor of Metro Hall, which is at 6th and Jefferson.
2. Email our council representative, Mr. George Unseld at george.unself@louisvilleky.gov or phone him at 574-1106. You can also collectively email all 26 council members at www.louisvilleky.gov/MetroCouncil/emailmcmembers.htm and you can email Mayor Jerry Abramson at Jerry.Abramson@Louisvilleky.gov.
3. Some residents of the Old Louisville neighborhood are going to file a lawsuit against the metro government. If you would like information on how to join that litigation (or other ways you can help) you can call Rose Nett at 387-2534.
Bless each of you in your ministry in and to this neighborhood.
Pastor Jean
