Weddings are beautiful at Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church! Here are some of the basics of our policy concerning weddings:
- You do not have to be a member of our church to have your wedding here.
- Check with our Church Office Manager for an open date. Check with one of our pastors to see if his/her calendar is open.
- If you have someone else you want to invite to be the officiating minister, that person does not have to be a United Methodist. However, guest clergy may only officiate with the understanding that our clergy have the right to refuse any elements of a service.
- If you and one of our pastors decide that she or he will officiate the wedding, there will be a minimum of four meetings between you and the pastor. They will include pre-marital counseling and ceremony planning. We require these meetings because the church calls for its pastors to be confident that couples they marry affirm their relationship as a sacred covenant.
- There are several additional theological points about Christian weddings and sacred spaces that are contained in the actual wedding contract, which you can pick up in the church office.

Services of the pastor(s) Honorarium
- Fees for members (Members are persons who have officially joined Fourth Avenue and have been active participants for a minimum of six months before this contract is negotiated. Active members are those who are in attendance for worship an average of three Sundays a month.)
